I pretty much adore him.

Well, it has been 3 1/2 months now that we have been married and there is just no other way to put it other than .... I am smitten. I have, without a doubt, married my best friend. We have such a great time together. We like to make it a habit that every Tuesday night, we go on our "Pizza Buffet Date Night" with good food, good laughs, and plenty of air hockey. Today just so happens to be Tuesday, so I'm super excited.

So I have decided to dedicate this post to Adam, my real life "McDreamy"... and come up with the top 5 reasons why I adore him so -- ;)

#5. Animals Love Him

It never fails. No matter how much I pet our cat, Chloe, she always ends up getting in Adams lap and snuggling up next to him. I guess I can't blame her.

#4. Kids Love Him
From the very moment that Haylee and Aby met Adam, they warmed right up to him. I think they could judge by his personality that he has a heart of gold.

#3. He is as Smart as a Whippersnapper.
(I don't even know how to spell it, but I'm sure he would!)

Ask him anything about History or Geography and he can tell you the answer.

#2. He likes to Be CRAZY With Me!

Since two of my favorite things to do are act silly and laugh, it is a good thing that I married a man who has fun with me and doesn't just look at me like I am crazy.

#1. He thinks I am a Lily Among Thorns
"Like a lily among thorns, so is my true love among the young women."
- Song of Solomon 2:2

He actually went out and gathered these thorns and picked this lily for me to make a special arrangement in the house.

Basically, I have decided that I just do not deserve his love and ...

I pretty much adore him.

We had a breakthrough this weekend. Finally.... I've been waiting. We were discussing how we are going to raise our children some day, and all of the things that we want to teach them, and all of the ways that we want to protect them. While we were talking, I decided to share with him a little bit as to how I see the world and how I wanted to be able to paint a picture to my children of the world I see and the things that God has shown me through his love. The conversation was pretty normal and we got up from the office and went into the living room to finish watching some of the U.S Open.
I was COMPLETELY for Rocco, by the way. (Give him a break, Tiger, you win all the time.)
We were sitting there. Hand in hand, being as quiet as we had all weekend, I think. And all of a sudden, Adam looks over at me, with this very serious look, and says -
"I love the way you look at things. You are worth far more than diamonds."
He was referring to Proverbs 31:10 that says - "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies." And with that, I felt a piece of my heart come back. One that has been lost for who knows how long. I know at times I can be unbearable ... I see all of the hurting going on in the world and I'm so passionate about all of it, and want to change it so badly, that I can probably seem over-emotional and too into it sometimes. But the fact that my husband sees that as a good thing in me, well, to me... that is all I needed to hear. But wow, I've needed to hear it.

Being with Adam these last few months and getting to play together, and study together, and to be able to do little things to make each other feel appreciated or to make each other laugh...I know that these times of it just being me and him are going to go by so fast. I don't want to take a single moment for granted, because every one I spend with him is absolutely precious. I heard a song on the radio the other day that made me really think about taking the time to enjoy our love as much as I can. Here are some of the lyrics:
Before she knows it she's a brand new bride
In a one-bedroom apartment, and her daddy stops by
He tells her "It's a nice place"She says "It'll do for now"
Starts talking about babies and buying a house
Daddy shakes his head and says "Baby, just slow down"
Cause you're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this.
