This Gets Deep - So Watch Your Step

My husband is a deep thinker. Especially when it comes to Spiritual things. To hear him talk about the Bible and what he gets out of it, just amazes me. This last Sunday, he had the chance to teach a class at our church congregation. I could not have been more proud of him. Not only did he go above and beyond studying and preparing for what he was teaching on, but he threw in a lot of different ways to look at the scripture that really caught everyone's attention. One of the analogies he used in class, I wanted to share with all of you. This is what he said -

He said that being someone who says they believe in God, and then continues to live a life of sin, or continues to be entertained with sinful things, is like someone saying that they believe that their very next step will be onto a land mine and not taking a step around. You just say - "sure, I believe there is a land mine right there.... but..." BOOM!, you step there anyway. Anyone who TRULY believes in God and His word, would not take a step on the land mine, he would take another route to get where he was going.

Isn't that brilliant? Now, I know, he is my husband, so of course I'm going to be proud of him, but wow! I've never thought about it like that before. There are many people who say - "sure, I'm a Christian. Sure, I believe that the Bible is true". Yet, they go out everyday and do the very things that God tells them will cause separation from Him. They continue to step on the land mines. So how much do they really BELIEVE?

There was once a quote that said - "Your actions will always follow your beliefs." And this is so true. If you truly believe what the Bible says, that you will one day be judged for what you do on this earth, then well... you will live like it. It is the whole concept in the book of James, which is what Adam taught on. "Faith without works is dead." It means, that if you have FAITH ... your good works will show it. You will step around the land mine. But if your faith is vain, you will claim to be a Christian, but you will not live like one. Matthew 15:8 Jesus says - "With their lips do they honor me, but their hearts are far from me."

.... your actions will always follow your beliefs.
And since I'm blogging away today, ... lets go ahead and talk about Proposition 8. What I have to say might light a fuse under some of you, but what can I say? It won't be the first nor the last time I light somebody's fuse.
Romans 1:25-32 of the Bible says this :
For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural,
and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper,
being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips,
slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,
without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful;
and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only who do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.
HHmm.. give hearty approval. Really? Because we as Americans are persuaded to be "tolerant" people. Tolerant of other people's perverted lives, tolerant for something so unnatural. So, despite the fact that I might offend these people with my blog ... I will NOT give approval to their lifestyle. If that makes me "intolerant", then YES, YES I am.
Another quote I have heard in my lifetime is - Love the sinner, hate the sin. And that is VERY possible to do. People might challenge me on this, but I know for a fact that this is possible. For example, I know people who are homosexual. They are nice people, they are nice to me, and they want love just like the rest of us. I care about and love these people. However, I will not approve of their lifestyle in order to appease them. Lets get real. What is unnatural is unnatural, no matter who changes the rules and decides it's ok.
And that brings me to Proposition 8. Not even so much Prop 8, as much as homosexuality in a nut shell. You might be thinking I am rather bold to post my opinions all over the Internet, but it's time this was said. The truth is and always will be the truth, no matter who wants to change it. Homosexuals say that their lifestyle is about love. But I beg to differ. I believe that their lifestyle is about sex. Working at the crisis center, I have been able to study homosexuality immensely. I am trained to know about their lifestyle and their choices because we can not discriminate at our office based on sexual preference. Or should I say .. "love preference"?? hhhmm.... So I have gotten to understand the gay community very well in the last two years. I have also gotten to study, unfortunately, pedophiles. Yes, people who are involved with sex or sexual activity with children who have not reached puberty. Now, to hear these people explain themselves, they would tell you that what others see to be disgusting, they see as NORMAL. As a matter of fact, there is now the Man/Boy Association.
The North American Man/Boy Love Association (NAMBLA) is a New York City and San Francisco-based unincorporated organization in the United States that advocates the liberalisation of laws against sexual relations between adult and minor males - resolving to "end the oppression of men and boys who have freely chosen mutually consenting relationships".
Yes, you read that correctly. You see, men have found young boys who have decided that they want to have relations with these older men, and therefore, it should be their right to engage in whatever they please.
I'm disturbed.
Why would people, who believe that homosexuals should be able to live the lifestyle that they have chosen, fight so hard for them ... and then turn around and say - "what a minute! this is going too far now!, this is pedophilia. This is gross!" My question is, WHO GETS TO CHOOSE??
Who gets to say when we have gone too far? We HAVE to have a standard. There HAS to be a right and a wrong. We can't just keep letting people who have serious issues decide what is right in our country. In our world! Because some people think that Beastiality is ok too. And since they aren't hurting anyone .... well, who draws the line??
Don't get me wrong. I am all for people finding love. But what doesn't make sense to me, is that most of these people would tell you that they love their partner because of qualities that if they took the time, they could find in someone of the opposite sex. I have friends who are in their 40's who haven't found love yet, but you don't see them saying - "oh well, I've waited long enough... I'll try someone of my same sex to see if I find these characteristics. You don't see that because being homosexual isn't about finding love. It is about having a desire to have unnatural sex. And yes, some might say ... well... why is it unnatural?? And if I really MUST go there....
Think LOGICALLY for a minute. God created the man and woman to fit together so perfectly, that they can populate the earth. This was not an accident. You don't have to open a Bible to realize that a man and a man and a woman and a woman can not continue to create human beings. Why can we put a label on one thing as natural, and then say ... well, but Man and Goat aren't suppose to do those things. Oh really? Because my body tells me that man and man aren't supposed to do those either. Man and Woman are. Sorry, but I'm going to get a little graphic here. But... I'm on my soapbox, bare with me. There are several holes in my body. The mouth, the ears, etc. They all play their purpose. And I guarantee you, that there is one that helps me create a child, and there is one that helps me dispose of wastes and those two are NOT supposed to be confused. It isn't LOGICALLY NATURAL. But because the times and the people are so perverse now, we want to experiment and say that it is our right to do whatever we want.
So those of you that fight to the death for your homosexual friends, because "they deserve their right to 'love' too", ... DO NOT act shocked when the MAN/BOY Association gets its way, and beastiality becomes rampant. Maybe those men LOVE those little boys, .. and maybe even LOVE those goats. And DON'T say that those things are sick and perverse and ought not be so... because your motto is - to each his own, right?? There HAS GOT to be a NATURAL. There HAS GOT to be a NORMAL. There HAS GOT to be a right way and a wrong way, and my Bible tells me the right way, but even if you don't believe in God, you have to be able to, as an intelligent human being, see that logically there is a way our anatomy is supposed to work. At least admit that. And because it is so unnatural, it is easy for people to get AIDS this way. In 1989, 73% of the people who had AIDS were homosexuals. That was in 1989!
Intolerant, you can call me that. I'm ok with being intolerant of watching our human race go from homosexuality to pedophilia to beastiality. If we want to use the excuse that we are "born that way" ... sure... and these men who want to engage in sexual acts with little boys say they were BORN to desire those things too. Give me a break. As long as we have a pocket, we can keep pulling excuses out of it. The truth is HOMOSEXUALITY is unnatural. I will love them as people, but I will REFUSE to approve of their lifestyle. As long as we continue to not have a standard of what is RIGHT and WRONG, our country will continue to get farther and farther away from natural. We already have commercials on T.V. during SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS pointed at children that talk about not saying the word "gay" in a bad way, because it doesn't mean something bad. And this morning I heard on the radio a guy coming out of a vampire movie and asking the girls how they liked it and a young man stepped in and said - "I want me some vampire". So the girls proceeded in telling the man from the radio station that if he would suck on the young boys neck, they would give him their phone numbers. IT IS SICK. It is everywhere. We are constantly teaching children to grow up to want to do something unnatural. And then we are all shocked and surprised when these men grow up and want to look at little boy porn. THAT is when we draw the line and say it is wrong. WOW. Who gets to draw that line?? I'm really curious. And don't say the line is drawn when someone doesn't consent, because we've now got LITTLE BOYS consenting all over the place. So does that make pedophilia RIGHT now!??! Come on people, we think we are so "open-minded" and contributing so many intelligent ideas to the next generation ... but we are only fooling ourselves.
"Don't deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise in the ways of this world, you should give up that wisdom in order to become really wise. The wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. For it is written, "God catches the wise in their cleverness."
- 1 Corinthians 3:18-19
